  • Your Hair Care Routine - Tips

Posted on October 11th, 2009 admin No comments
    Juliet Cohen asked:

Head the crown of the body, if not covered by beautiful thick hair spoils the entire look of a person. So looking after hair or hair care is as important as looking after any other part of the body. As one keeps a daily routine to clean the body, hair too should be cleaned the same way. Longer the hair more care they require. As dust and dirt sticks on hair they require more care when it comes to cleaning and it should be in one’s daily routine. Hair is the crown of the body. It does not matter how beautiful you are if you neglect your hair. Like skin hair too is different type as normal, dry and oily and as the skin has different complexion, hair have different texture as straight, curly or wavy.

First of all eating healthy nutritional food rich of iron and protein is must for healthy hair. A balanced diet is good and must for the entire body. Such hair requires advanced care. One should wash hair properly with a good shampoo, which is their hair type as for dry hair a shampoo that is specially made for dry hair should be used. Wash the hair thoroughly; no traces of shampoo or conditioner should be left on the hair or scalp. Although brushing is less damaging than combing but a soft brush does not cause more damage to hair than a comb. Prolonged brushing can also harm the hair. Back combing also damages the hair. It causes knotting which is very difficult to untangle. Oil massage is very useful for the hair. It improves the blood circulation and helps the hair grow so it should be done at least once in a weak. Oil should be left on the scalp overnight and hair should be shampooed the next morning.

Coconut and olive oil are very good to use for hair massage but if one wants one can even mix them in equal proportion and use. A mixture of olive oil and castor oil is very useful for dry, falling hair. Shampoo and conditioner can be used daily if necessary, but if you feel that your hair needs an extra boost, you may also want to consider adding a hot oil treatment or hair mask to your hair care routine. Dry hair tends to be thin and rough. It is susceptible to tangles, damage, breakage and split ends. Good hair care should be started at home. With proper care and attention you can restore its vitality and glossy sheen. The primary aim is to replenish the oil and the moisture in the hair.

Here are Ten essential must-dos of great hair care.

    1. Use the right hare care products for your specific hair type.

    2. Get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks.

    3. Use hair care products containing sunscreen.

    4. Shampoo your hair only when it is dirty.

    5. Turn to a professional for all of your hair care needs.

    6. Use professional conditioning hair coloring systems.

    7. Stick with one chemical service.

    8. Add texture.

    9. Choose hair color that compliments your style.

    10. Use a wide-toothed comb when your hair is wet.

  • Full Lace Wigs - Tips and Tricks

    Marie Hines asked:

    a) Tips and Tricks for Liquid Bonding Adhesives:

Below, a list of helpful tips to help you achieve the strongest and most secure bond possible.

When applying the liquid adhesive, only use thin, even coats. If you are using a brush, use a paint movement with your hand in both directions - horizontal and vertical. If more adhesive is desired, use thin multiple coats, but make sure the previous coat is dry before applying the next coat.

Never try to apply liquid bond directly to a lace system. Instead, apply it on your scalp and place the unit on your head. Always clean and prepare your scalp properly, with skin shield before attaching your full lace wig. Skin shield is a product, that provides a protective barrier against dermal irritation, while enhancing the effectiveness of skin-safe liquid or tape adhesives.

After showering or working out, the bond of your full lace wig will seem like it is weakening, which is expected, then even if your hair system is still attached securely, the bond will soften a bit, due to extra heat and moisture, do not touch the unit then, because as your body cools, the bond will harden again.

Airborne dust, make-up will attach itself to the adhesive in the front and side edges of lace units and may become visible over time. Immediately after a shower is the easiest time to clean this area because the hairpiece adhesive is pliable. Spray a liberal amount of Adjust-a-Bond on the tip of a double folded tissue. Hold your hair back with one hand and wipe the edge of the lace using the saturated tissue with the other hand.

This trick will help keep your lace front and side edges invisible at all times.

    b) Tips and Tricks to avoid shedding

Below, a list of helpful tips to avoid excessive shedding.

Some light shedding is normal, however, your full lace wig should not shed anymore then our own hair would.

DO NOT put any hair products that contain a high percentage of alcohol (like some hair spray, spritz, etc…) directly into the hair of your full lace wig. These products will damage the hair and cause excessive shedding).

When going to sleep wearing your full lace wig, always braid up the hair or at least put it in a pony tail so it will not tangle up, while you sleep. Best is for you to wrap a scarf around your head or to wear a hair bonnet, while you are asleep,(see below section: Tips and Tricks to avoid damages while sleeping). This will prevent the hair of your full lace wig from breakage and shedding.

When swimming wearing your full lace wig, keep in mind that chlorine, and salt water can damage the hair of the unit, therefore wear a swim cap or wash your full lace wig after each swim session. NEVER let chlorine and/or salt water stay in the hair of your full lace wig,as it will damage the hair of your unit irreversibly.

Reseal the knots located on the inside of your full lace wig cap, after each and every wash, with some knot sealer. This will strengthen the knots on each hair strand and protect your full lace wig from excessive shedding.

    c) Tips and Tricks for Curly, Deep Wave and Wavy Styles

Below, a moisturizer tip for Full lace wigs with a Curly, Deep Wave, Wavy Style.

Wash and rinse your full lace wig gently but thoroughly, then spray until saturation, with a,1/4 Dove Moisturizing Conditioner, 1/4 of Glycerin and 2/4 plain water mixture*. Using a loop brush, brush it into shape. Cover your full lace wig with a hair net, and let it dry on top of a wig head. Once dry and you begin to wear it, you spray lightly with above mixture every 2-3 days or as needed. This will restore the initial shape, bounce and shine of the curls and/or the waves.

*1/3 of Sunsilk Captivating Curls Lotion, 1/3 of glycerin and 1/3 of plain water mixture.

    d) Tips and Tricks for a long-lasting full lace wig

The key factor in full lace wig care and maintenance, is to understand that your full lace wig is made of human hair, that is approximately 4 years old. Since hair grows on average a half inch per month, one year equates out to 6 inches. So since on the average 24 inches long hair is used to make a 20 inch unit, it is safe to say, that the hair of your unit has been exposed to the elements a minimum of 4 years, and now that hair has been removed from its nutrient source, to be made into your fabulous full lace wig, care and maintenance become that hair life support.

Five main tools are required to properly care for your full lace wig: Shampoo, Conditioner, a rake, your pillow case and your hair wrap. These are the 5 key players and unfortunately not all options are created equally.

A good rule of thumb for shampoo or conditioner is that if it costs between $10.00 and $20.00 for 8.5 oz then you have the right stuff. Since the shampoo and conditioner are keys to protecting the hair natural oils, these are two items that you will be best to invest into.

Beyond washing your unit, you are going to style it and that is where the Rake comes in. Brushes and combs provide too much tension on the hair and will cause breakage and shedding. Use a Rake or even a Pick and toss the brush and comb and you will reduce greatly the tension put on the hair and the knots while styling your unit and therefore your full lace wig will last longer.

    e) Tips and Tricks to avoid damages of your full lace wig while sleeping

Below a tip that is essential when asleep while wearing your hair unit

If you are wearing your full lace wig to bed, you must choose to follow those sleep habits, to avoid damaging the hair of your unit.

Use a wrap. Having the hair wrapped in a satin or silk wrap will reduce frictions on your unit when you move your head in your sleep. Also use a pillow case in satin or silk. The key here is that the pillow case MUST be the same material as your wrap. If your hair is wrapped in satin, have a satin pillow case. If the hair is wrapped in silk, have a silk pillow case. This will reduce greatly the tension and resistance between the two fabrics, avoid the occasional breakage and allows the hair to remain protected, while you sleep.

    f) Tips and Tricks for cold temperature

Below, a tip to keep the hair of your full lace wig beautiful and strong

Cold temperature, specially dry cold weather can damage, tangle and in some cases damage your hair unit irreversibly. Luckily, there are fantastic products on the market that can protect your hair from harsh drying climates. Hair Conditioning treatments, Hair Damage Repair kit , are an excellent for replenishing and protecting the hair of your full lace wig. Whichever brand your choose to use on your hair unit, it is ESSENTIAL that you make sure, that the product is free from alcohol.

Whenever the hair of your full lace wig is a bit dry or if you want to ensure it will be protected from the elements follow these simple steps:

    1. Remove hair unit and wash gently.

    2. Apply a Hair Damage Repair or another high end conditioning treatment formulated for hair moisture replenishment. Do NOT use protein enriched conditioners.

    3. Put your full lace wig in a plastic bag and place in a warm area of your home. Do NOT microwave or apply direct heat, as it will damage your unit.

    4. Allow the bag to sit for 24 hours, then remove and rinse hair thoroughly in lukewarm water and allow to air dry.

If you are wearing your hair unit full time, repeat this process every three weeks. Beware! There is a such thing as too much moisture and you want to maintain the human hair average natural ph levels as much as possible.

  • A Lace Front Wig Can Help You Look Like A Model!

Posted on October 10th, 2009 admin 1 comment
    Levetta Rivera asked:

You often see fashion magazines featuring fascinating models with beautiful hair in gorgeous shades of ebony, blonde and brown, but what many don’t know is that most of these beautiful models aren’t actually posing with their natural hair but rather they are wearing lace front wigs. You too can look as fascinating as these models with the addition of a lace front wig to your beauty arsenal. Lace front wigs are hair wigs made of real or synthetic hair designed to be worn for fashion aesthetic and stylistic reasons, or to hide alopecia or balding. These wigs are very popular among celebrities and models and the general public is catching on fast.

Lace front wigs are called this because they are constructed by sewing hair onto an invisible lace base that is custom cut perfectly to the wig wearer’s hairline. These wigs are the most natural looking wigs on the market today. They are perfectly shaped and very light weight. When worn correctly, no-one will be able to tell that you are wearing a wig as these hair units boast an invisible hairline which gives off the appearance that the wig hair is actually growing from your scalp. Lace front wigs really offer you a natural and original look which is why they are immensely popular, and if you are losing your hair, they offer an excellent hair replacement solution. In addition, unlike weaves, fusion, strand-by-strand, and many other popular hair extension methods that can damage your hair and natural hairline, lace front wigs are completely safe.

Another great feature of lace front wigs is that you can style them easily. Do you remember the popular lengthy curls of Jessica Simpson, or the silky straight look of Beyonce? These styles can be achieved with a lace front wig… as a matter of fact the styling possibilities are unlimited. You can truly get the hair that you have always desired. Lace front wigs can also be worn under diverse weather conditions. You can even take a shower or go swimming with the wig on. Next to the fact that these hair units are virtually undetectable, their versatility and durability are key factors that make people fall for them.

Lace front wigs are not cheap. A well made high quality lace wig unit constructed with 100% human Indian hair will range in price from $500 to $3000 plus. You may be able to find retailers selling them for less than $500 but they are usually of a sub-par quality and you should proceed with caution because as the saying goes you get what you pay for. Even though these wigs are on the expensive side, they still may prove to be more economical in the long run to those who normally visit the hair salon every 2 weeks or every month for a relaxer, perm or touch-up.

Lace front wigs are available in a wide range of colors and textures such as straight, wavy, body wave or curly. These wigs come in any length ranging from short crop to super long. The majority of people who purchase these wigs get them custom made to fit their exact head measurements. If you order a custom lace front wig unit you should expect to wait 4-6 weeks on average to receive your wig. Some lace front wig retailers do offer non-custom stock units in a variety of different measurements, but if it is your first time buying a lace front wig, it is not recommended that you buy a stock unit unless you are actually able to try the wig on first to insure that it fits perfectly. When you spend several hundred dollars on a wig you deserve a perfect fit! A custom lace front wig unit tailored to your exact head measurements in which you choose the color, highlights, length, hair texture, hair density, lace type and more is worth the wait!

So, whether you are just looking to improve your hair style and looks, or if you suffer from hair loss due to any reason and need a hair replacement solution… you should consider investing in a lace front wig. You should know that, unless you live in a major city, you may have a hard time finding a lace front wig dealer in your local area because even though these wigs are gaining in popularity, they are still pretty exclusive due to their high end price tag. If there are no lace front wig dealers in your area you are still in luck as there are numerous online wig stores selling an extensive range of these wigs. As with any online purchase you should be very selective when choosing who to buy from to avoid getting scammed. Make sure that the establishment list a contact phone number and address.

  • Hair Weaving and a Hair Replacement System

Posted on October 10th, 2009 admin No comments
    Cindy Lee asked:

Among the most interesting and often important services provided by hair stylists are hair weaving and hair extensions.

Hair loss in either men or women can create feelings of vulnerability, self-consciousness and a loss of self-esteem.  Imagine every day being a “bad hair day”.  This is what people who are balding or have suffered any significant hair loss experience every day of their lives.

With hair weaving techniques that add more hair, these people can regain their confidence, self-esteem and youthful appearance.

Aging, chronic hair pulling (Trichotillomania) and incomplete hair re-growth after chemotherapy are some of the factors that can create partial hair loss.

For those of you new to the area of hair weaving this article will provide some basic information on hair weaving to attach a hair replacement system or full wig, and introduce you to the electric hair weaving machine.  This device helps the stylist create the exact look desired and shortens the time it takes to create the weave track.

First, here are some basic terms.

Hair weaving is where either synthetic or human hair is cornrow braided or woven into the person’s existing natural hair at the scalp.  An extension weft or custom made hair system is then sewn on the created track.

A hair extension is the synthetic or natural hair that is attached to the existing natural hair.

Natural human hair used for weaves, wigs and extensions comes mainly from the continent of Asia and to some smaller degree from China, India, Eastern Europe and Russia.  This human hair comes in a wide variety of grades.  The highest is pure human hair from young donors that has been gently processed leaving the cuticles intact.  This is called “Remy” hair.  Human hair can also come in lower grades included those diluted with animal or synthetic hair.  High quality unprocessed 100% European human hair is of course more expensive than hair mixed with animal hair or synthetics.

Synthetic hair can be made from a variety of synthetic fibers including Kanekalon, Toupelon, wool, alpaca, mohair, rayon, goat, nylon and yak.  Synthetic hair comes in wefts and single strands for braids.  This type of hair is best used for braids since using heating appliances such as straightening combs or curling irons is not recommended.   For the obvious reason of supply synthetic hair is cheaper than natural high-quality human hair.

Corn rowed hair refers to a traditional style of African origin in which the hair is made into small braids starting close to the scalp.  These can be made in simple rows or very complex patterns.

Human hair extensions can also come in higher Cuticle Remy or unprocessed Caucasian European grades as well as lower grades including those diluted with animal or synthetic hair.

One of the most innovative recent inventions in the world of hair replacement is the electric hair weaving machine.  A hair weaving machine takes the place of traditional cornrow braids and is used to help the stylist create the track for attaching natural or synthetic hair extensions to the head.  By using this machine the stylist saves time while keeping the track extremely small as well as less detectable, typically the size of a pencil lead. With it you can attach several different types of hair additions to the head such as Integrations, wefts, wigs, and partial hairpieces giving the client an extended wear ‘prosthesis’ that can be slept with and showered in.

Hair replacement systems have been a part of society since the early Egyptians.  With current advances such as the electric hair weaving machine we can make hair extensions and custom hairpieces look more natural than ever before and so help our clients get exactly what they are looking for.

  • Top Ten Golden Tips for Hair Care

Posted on October 8th, 2009 admin No comments
    Peter sams asked:

Hair care is an overall term for parts of hygiene and cosmetology involving the hair on the human head.Care of the hair and the scalp skins are sometimes considered separate, but are often intertwined because hair grows from underneath the skin. The living part of hair is the hair follicle which contains the hair root, the sebaceous gland the vessel for delivering nutrients (via the blood), and other parts. Hair itself is very living; however, much can be done to manage hair and ensure that the outer surface of hair, the cuticle, will remain intact and continue to protect the inner parts of the hair cell Curly hair is every junior high girl’s worst enemy! It seems like no matter what curly hair care products she uses, those curls are out of control! Curly hair whether it be short curly hair or long, can either be a blessing, or a curse, depending on how it is treated!

Healthy hair begins with effective shampoos, conditioners, vitamins & treatments. Hair care products deep clean and infuse moisture, vitamins & proteins for growth, shine, & health. Reduce thinning; prevent dry and oily hair, repair damage from breakage, frizzing, coloring, sun, chemicals, stress, and overheating. Address slow growth and hair loss with hair vitamins, follicle stimulators, proteins, and botanicals.

    Tips for Hair Care

    1) Firstly, if you pick out a shampoo for oily hair when your hair is actually dry, it will only damage your hair. Understanding the kind of hair you have is important; the proof lies in that nearly all shampoo brands produce different products for different kinds of hair. Your hair can be oily, dry or balanced.

Find out what your hair type is so you can nourish it better.

    2) Brush your hair regularly before going to bed each night.

    3) Take a calcium supplement or drink two glasses of milk a day.

    4) Add iron and minerals in the natural form in your diet.

    5) Don’t leave the blow dryer in one spot for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and at a good distance away from your hair.

    6) When swimming where a cap to protect your hair from chlorinated water, if you choose not to wear a cap make sure you shampoo and condition your hair right after you are done swimming.

    7) Get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks as part of your regular hair care routine. Even if you are growing your hair longer, it is still vital to make a routine trim a major part of your hair care routine. Snipping ends before they split will keep your hair looking healthy and save you hair care headaches in the end.

    8) Yes, kitchen beauticians and friends do not cost as much as putting your hair care needs in the hands of a qualified professional, but they often cause blunders that end up costing you more money than if you went to the salon in the first place.

    9) Always hold hair dryer away from your hair. Direct air from the hair dryer down hair shaft and not directly into the roots and keep it moving.

    10) Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Use very little but enough to cover hair completely with lather. Use a conditioner to keep hair manageable.

  • Using the Right Hair Care Products Means Beautiful and Healthy Hair

    Jhoana Cooper asked:

A beautiful and healthy mane is a wonderful asset. Using the right hair care products ensures that your hair stays healthy, full of life, vibrant, and silky. Whatever your hair length – long, short, straight or curly, a crowning glory enhances a woman’s personality and adds to her appeal. However, beautiful hair is not the domain of just women. Healthy and lustrous hair also adds to a man’s personality. The best way to achieve this is by using a good hair product. For most people, it is extremely important to take good care of their hair. They do so by pampering their hair using the best hair care products created by the leading market experts. If the metropolitan lifestyle and constant stress are playing havoc with your hair, it’s time for you to learn the basics about taking care of your hair so that they become your crowning glory.

    Things To Know

Since there are a wide range of hair products from various brands in the market, choosing the right hair care product may prove to be slightly overwhelming, especially if you don’t have proper knowledge. So, in order to take care of your hair, you need to first understand your hair type. Understanding your hair type, quality, and texture is the first step to choosing a good hair product like shampoo, conditioner, etc. Let’s share with you some tips on how to choose the right hair product for your hair type.

    Find Your Hair Type

The type of hair you have will determine the kind of hair care product you should be using. There are many types of hair including dry, fine, thick, dull, curly, oily, frizzy, wavy, etc. Start by identifying your hair type so that it becomes simpler for you to find the right hair care products for it. While buying hair care products, you must always choose products designed by a reputable hair care brand and that too especially created for your hair type. Try to avoid buying products that have too much of chemicals as these can damage your hair permanently. Also, if you are confused about your hair type, simply ask a hair care expert what type of hair you have.

Choosing Tools For Your Hair Type

A very major part of taking care of your crowning glory is dependent on the tools you use on a regular basis. Hair brush, hair care products like sprays, gels, etc are all responsible for the beauty and health of your hair. These styling products come in so many different varieties that you may naturally want to try as many as possible so that you can experiment and finally, discover hair product that is best for your hair. Styling tools such as electric curlers, hair straightening iron, curling iron, etc need to be selected carefully and with extreme caution. Always buy a hair product that is ‘perfect’ for your hair type and doesn’t steal it of its shine and vitality.

The best way to find a good hair product is to do extensive research. You can also check out product reviews for hair care products before buying them.

    full lace wig asked:

Our expert team includes both designers and top stylists who together create intricate pieces to suit your needs. The new Lace Wig technique is so advanced that everyone will assume your hair to be your own, and will not believe for one minute that it’s a wig.this is so ture, and so many people are ordering from China, and we believe it will become more and more popular !

We pride ourselves on providing top quality 100% Remy Human Hair from a variety of Indian, Chinese, Brazilian and Indonesian sources. Each wig is created from hair donated by only one individual to ensure that the creation is a refined blend of premium hair displaying the same quality and texture throughout.

Usually on the order from, there are many things people dont understand its meaning.then i will explain to you here/

    What is a Lace Wig?

This amazing new concept has been a well kept secret in Hollywood for the past couple of years.  Celebrities, such as Tyra Banks and Beyonce are all huge fans of the Lace Wig.

As well as the obvious glitz and glamour association, Lace Wigs have also restored confidence to people suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions such as alopecia or chemotherapy.

A Lace Wig is intricately built on an extremely sheer lace cap, by hand tying individual strands of hair to the lace. This unique technique allows for a totally natural hairline to be created, one that is virtually invisible to the eye. This also applies to when the hair of the wig is parted, with the hair appearing to “grow” from the scalp so that the wig can be worn in a variety of styles: high ponytail, braided, curled.

and the lace are totally imported from swiss and france.we have many custmomers in China too.they are people who are playing movies and some are stars.they use full lace wigs when this actor needs a wig or something like that.

What is the difference between a lace front wig and a regular wig?

A full Lace Wig is an intricately designed cap created entirely from lace. Each strand of hair is individually hand tied to the lace giving the realistic appearance of a scalp. Our Lace Wigs are produced with bleached knots to blend in with the colour of the lace.  When deciding upon your Lace Wig, you would choose a similar colour to your own scalp to ensure a realistic look. You would then be able to part the hair in any direction or wear it in a high ponytail without the worry of exposed tracks.

The wigs are also made from very light lace, which allows the air to flow inside and out of the cap, to combat the dreaded itching that usually occurs with a non Lace wig!

There is a kind of lace front wig too,its just have lace front and the rest are machine made.

What are the different types of lace available?

French lace creates a strong wig construction, which is slightly more detectable than Swiss however more robust. French cap construction is ideal for first time wearers as it is more durable and virtually undetectable.

Swiss lace is a finer less detectable lace. The lace is fragile and more suitable for experienced users.

What is the difference between Indian & Chinese Remy Hair?

The word “Remy” defines the process by which cuticles of the hair from the person donating it are kept intact and aligned together when the wig is knotted into the cap.

The Indian Remy Hair is strong and flexible; it can withstand the various processes, is naturally thick and maintains its natural volume; it is donated from people in that geography.

The Brazilian Remy Hair is very strong and of a coarser texture. It is more akin to African/Afro American Hair Texture and is donated from people in that geography.

The Chinese Remy hair is of a finer texture and is more delicate. Again, it is donated from people in that geography.

    Hair textures

    ·        Silky Straight:   a silky texture with a slight wave.

    ·        Yaki Straight:     resembles ‘relaxed’ afro hair.

    ·        Kinky Soft:         resembles blow dried afro hair texture.

    ·        Jheri Curl:          for natural afro hair texture.

    ·        Deep Wave:       large volume curls.

    ·        Body Wave:       loose curls.

    ·        Water Wave:     medium wavy curl.

How do I choose a wig density?

The “Wig Density” refers to the volume of hair that is tied to the base cap.

At Lace Wig Elegance, we aim to provide the density that you require. The medium density gives the most realistic appearance and as such all our “In stock” Lace Wigs are of this most popular density.  We also offer Light Density, and Heavy Density.

How do I apply my lace wig?

Lace wigs are attached by using adhesives which come in the form of liquid or tape (or you could use both). The method you use will depend entirely on personal preference. Our Research team keeps up to date with all the latest technological developments and the most reliable adhesives being produced. Please visit our DIY installation guide online for more detailed information.

We also offer a professional installation service at an additional cost. If you would like to utilise this service, them please let us know your postcode and we will ask your local Lace Wig Elegance stylist to contact you.

Can I dye, perm or blow dry my wig?

Our wigs can be treated in much the same way as your own hair. They can therefore be permed, coloured or heat treated. However, great care should be taken in treating your wig to reduce the likelihood of damage.

    What are Knots?

Lace Wig Elegance produces wigs that are 100% hand tied and knotted. The hair is knotted into the lace securely with each strand of hair tightly hand tied with either a single knot or a double knot. The knots are bleached to give the appearance that hair is actually growing from the scalp.

    What is Baby hair?

We use baby hair knotted into the lace on the periphery of the wig to make it look far more natural and undetectable. This is especially effective when you lift your hair in a high ponytail or swept back style. You can also part your hair anywhere and the join of wig and head will not be easily visible.

    Will adhesives affect my hairline?

When applied properly, the adhesive should not be placed on the hair so this should reduce the risk of any damage. You can also wear a wig cap under the wig to avoid any adhesive touching the hairline.

Adhesives will break down over time and we recommend that adhesives are removed and reapplied on a regular basis. When removing your wig, please allow sufficient time to undertake this process, allowing the lace release to separate the wig from your hairline. Do not be tempted to remove it in a hurry as this will damage both the wig and your hairline!

How long can I wear the wig before I have to remove it?

This depends on many factors; skin type, adhesive strength, climate, etc. Some customers are able to wear their wigs for 1-4 weeks at a time. However, due to easy application and removal, most customers are finding it preferable to remove their wigs on a weekly basis to care for their own hair, cleanse the lace and reapply. Although it is possible, daily removal of your wig is not recommended, as this will place additional stress on the lace and shorten the lifespan of your wig.

Full Cranial Prosthesis aka Full Lace wigs are the latest development in hair replacement units, and are designed to meet the specific needs of any women suffering from long term, or permanent hair loss to medical conditions.

Androgenic alopecia and traumatic alopecia are one of the most common medical cause of hair loss in women.

    - Androgenic alopecia is an hereditary hair thinning, and occurs in both men and women.

However, it is the most common form of alopecia in women.

It can begin as early as in the 20s.

By age 40, 40% of these women have noticeable hair thinning due to this condition.

By age 50, 60% of them have severe signs of hair loss.

When this type of hair loss occurs, women usually do not develop true baldness in the patterns that occur in men, as the areas affected are in the temples and the crown of the head, while the front hairline is usually preserved.

    - Traumatic alopecia is a form of hair loss due to scarring of the scalp area. This form of hair loss frequently occurs in African-American women.

Traumatic alopecia is divided into three categories: traction, chemical and follicular alopecia.

    Traction alopecia:

Hair loss associated with persistent use of tight braids, hair rollers, weaves, twist, locks, or cornrows. The first sign of traction alopecia is thinning above the ears and the forehead.

This hair loss is often seen in young girls.

Partial or complete regrowth of hair can follow, but permanent loss of hair can occur when

the roots of the hairs are severely damaged.

    Chemical alopecia:

Damage to the scalp and hair shaft caused by commercial chemical products, like relaxers.

It resemble hair thinning resulting from hereditary causes, but also include scarring of the scalp, which can irreversibly damage the hair follicles.

    Follicular alopecia:

Gradual destruction of hair follicles by the excessive use of pomades with a hot comb or iron.

Thinning usually begins at the crown and then spreads evenly throughout the head. It is an irreversible

    condition.
